Zadia RE Houser

Zadia RE Houser, 93, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Freeman Health System West, Joplin, Mo. She was born on June 18, 1919, in Nowata, Okla., to Robert E. Childress and Margaret Tennie Slape Childress. She married Artis Earl Houser on Feb. 10, 1940, in Paris, Ark., and he preceded her in death in February 1982.

Zadia was raised in Nowata, Okla., and attended school there. She lived in northern and southern California for 30 years and came to Nevada in 1972. Zadia was a homemaker. She loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Nevada Assembly of God Church in Nevada.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Betty Bennight and her husband, Ray, and Pat Houser, all of Nevada; three grandchildren, Sherry Bennight, Atlanta, Ga., Cindy Bennight, Monett, Mo., and Kathy Edwards, Nevada; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, John Childress and Robert Childress; and two sisters, Hazel Bailey and Emma Huffman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
