Council to consider 2 agreements for July bike race

The Nevada City Council will consider the final readings of two agreements during tonight's council meeting to bring a USA Cycling Criterium Race to Nevada on July 13 and 14.

Also on the agenda are the second readings of a ordinance to approve a contract with APAC Missouri Inc. for the 2013 Transportation Sales tax street construction projects and another ordnance transferring a lot adjacent to Bryan Elementary School that is owned by Wells Fargo Bank to the city of Nevada, which will then donate the lot to Bryan Elementary.

Other items on the council's agenda include a public hearing and consideration of an ordnance changing the zoning from R-1, single family, to R-3, apartment district and an ordinance to change the zoning on property at the southeast corner of Maple and Cedar streets from R-2, two-family district to RP-2 planned two-family district.

The council will also be considering Resolution No. 1366 approving a letter of agreement between the city of Nevada and the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Resolution No. 1367 approving a memorandum of understanding between the city of Nevada and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force to join the SMCCTF.

The council will also be considering the appointment of Jon Reneberg to the Parks and Recreation Board of Directors to replace Lance Christie who resigned from the parks board when he was elected to the Nevada City Council.
