McGennis Youth Center to host annual fishing derby

The Rich Hill Chamber of Commerce and the McGennis Youth Center are so-sponsoring the annual youth fishing derby, which is set for this coming Sunday, at the McGennis Youth Center.

Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, at the east shelter house, near the tennis courts. The derby will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.

Each participant in the derby must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The event is open to children ages 3 to 15.

Fishing and casting contests will be held in four age groups and prizes will be awarded to the winners in each age category. A hot dog roast will conclude the day's events.

To get to the McGennis Youth Center, go five miles west of Rich Hill on A Highway, then three miles south on Route WW and watch for signs.
