Nevada man arrested for alleged break-in

Friday, May 31, 2013

Nevada Police said a man has been arrested in connection with an reported break in that occurred Tuesday.

A female victim and her child were in their apartment in the 1200 block of North Elm Street when a man she knows allegedly forced his way through the front door of the apartment, according to a news release.

The victim and her child ran from the apartment.

Responding police officers determined the suspect was no longer in the apartment and had left the area, so a search was started. About an hour later, officers located the man at a business near Austin Boulevard and Ash Street and arrested Travis W. Beisley, 21, of Nevada. During the arrest, officers seized suspected drug paraphernalia from Beisley.

Charges have been filed against Beisley in the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court alleging one count of first-degree trespass and one count of second-degree property damage, both misdemeanors.

Beisley was booked into the Vernon County Jail Wednesday and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
