Leo and Lillian Penn -- 60 years

Saturday, June 8, 2013

Leo and Lillian Penn are celebrating their 60th year of marriage throughout the year 2013.

These past 60 years have blessed them with good health, humor and happiness, enduring bonds of friendship with so many friends and neighbors, and the warmth and love that comes with having a large and ever-growing family. Each day they celebrate the blessings of life, marriage, and the well-being of living in Nevada.

After completing his service in the U.S. Army and graduating from Creighton University, Leo became a career manager for the J.C. Penney Company, which was the reason he and his family came to and settled in Nevada in 1969 -- to manage the J.C. Penney store which was formerly situated on the courthouse square. Lillian, a devoted wife and mom to six, also worked 14 years outside the home as a home health nurse aide for Nevada City Hospital.

Together, they have enjoyed travels to many parts of the U.S., spending time with family and friends and playing huge parts in the lives of each of their 11 grandchildren. Life's been grand.

A celebratory family dinner is being planned for a date later in the summer.
