Moss House of Nevada, which provides safety and a home for victims of domestic and sexual violence, is hosting a fundraiser from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday that includes a drawing, a pie auction, entertainment, fireworks and food.

The event will be at the Nevada Elks Bingo Hall, 510 N. Centennial, in Nevada.

The "Pie in the Sky" fundraiser will feature pulled pork, ham, smoked cabbage, cheesy potatoes, and baked beans, all prepared by Gator's BBQ.

Pies will be auctioned throughout the night, along with donated items from local businesses.

Adam Ashby is volunteering his time to auction the homemade pies, according to a news release about the event.

Among those donating pies is Jara Mumma, a Guinness Book of World Records pie maker, who will be making two peanut butter banana pies on a pretzel crust.

Becky Gazaway, often referred to as the youth fair pie lady, will be making fresh strawberry pies.

Habitat for Humanity pie makers will also donate.

Among those contributing pies are local bakers Terry Logan, Kay Westerhold, Helen Brockmeyer, Patty Heffernan, Darlene Tweten, Florence Wilson, Norma Griggs, Kitty Scarborough, Laverne Monroe, Constance Beaver, Jan Thompson, Judy Fast, Norma Mooneyhan, Nancy Mooney, Sally Jones, and Debbie Porter.

Special entertainment includes the Newlywed Game with local couples of all ages and some long-time married couples.

A fireworks display will be at the Vernon County fairgrounds at dark.

Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for children, ages 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Moss House offices at 415 N. Main or from any board member -- Becky Gazaway, Phyllis Sprenkle, Barbara Weakley, Sandy Thomas, Sue Williams, Kim Bessey, Norma Mooneyhan, Jack Bastow, and John Scarborough.

Tickets also may be purchased at the door.
