Lois "Colleen" Christopher

Lois "Colleen" Christopher, 83, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2013. She was born to Harry Andrew Rankin and Alma Ellen Laskey Rankin on Jan. 31, 1930.

Colleen grew up both in Rich Hill, Mo., and Yakima, Wash., where she graduated from high school. On Nov. 25, 1950, she married William Lee Christopher. Colleen held several secretarial positions during her lifetime. She was the superintendent's secretary for the Rich Hill school district for 25 years. Colleen was a member of the First Christian Church of Rich Hill, until she moved to Nevada in 1994. At that time, she became a member of the First Christian Church of Nevada. Colleen enjoyed many interests in her life, but her heart centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Colleen is survived by her daughter, Kathy and her husband, Dan Coffman, of Nevada; her granddaughter, Tracy and her husband, Jason Comstock, of Nevada; her grandson, Brandon Coffman and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren, Garrett Christopher Neil and Trevyn Daniel Comstock of Nevada, and Tate Christopher and Brylee Jean Coffman of Springfield. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., today, at Nevada First Christian Church with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Honorary casketbearers are Brandon Coffman, Dan Coffman, Jason Comstock, Tate Coffman, Garrett Comstock, and Trevyn Comstock. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill.
