Nevada football to host Night Under the Lights

Monday, August 12, 2013

The Nevada Tigers football team will be hosting its first annual "Night Under the Lights Scrimmage and Tiger Tailgate."

The night's festivities will include a cookout that will feature grilled burgers and bratwursts, which will be available for sale with chips and a drink for $5, starting at 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Parent Boosters' ongoing efforts to purchase a new scoreboard for Logan Field.

Following the cookout, an intrasquad scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. It will feature all members of the 2013 Nevada Tigers football team.

The first home football game for the Tigers is scheduled for Sept. 20, against Pleasant Hill, and will be one of four home games on the schedule this year. The other three home games are scheduled for Oct. 4, against Kansas City Northeast; Oct. 11, against Springfield Central; and Oct. 18, against McDonald County.

"We would like to ask our community to come out to help welcome new head coach Eric Yoakam and support our Nevada Tigers," Parent Booster board member Julie Wilson said. "Let's make this a great night to kick off Nevada Tiger football!"
