Robert Merle "Bob" Gibson

Robert Merle "Bob" Gibson, 82, Nevada, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home. He was born April 10, 193l, in Nevada, to Robert M. and Alice Gibson Sr. He married Florence Fay Lind in 1950, in Nevada, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2004.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Nevada where he operated Gibson's Tree Service for many years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Bob was a member of the BPO Elks No. 564 and the First Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandy Stevenson, of the home; two grandsons, Kenneth Gibson and his fiancé, Mary, Nevada, and Andy Calm and his wife, Lacy, Nevada; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Hewitt and Kayden Coy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers, Jim Gibson, Ervin Folson, and Bill Gibson; and one sister, Dorothy Gibson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, at the First Baptist Church, Nevada. Friends may call now and until noon, Saturday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
