Sheldon Board of Education voted during their Aug. 14 meeting to keep the tax levy the same as last year at $3.93 per $100 assessed valuation.

The board also voted 6-1 to adopt policy updates with the exception of policy 4610, which addresses teacher evaluations that do not go into effect until next year.

Superintendent Tim Judd told the board in his report the air conditioners in several rooms will have to be repaired or recharged and the new copy machines have been delivered and set up.

In other business, the board unanimously:

* Approved the request to destroy obsolete records.

* Accepted the eligibility criteria for free and reduced price meals.

* Adopted the school Code of Ethics.

* Approved three bus routes.

* Accepted a letter of engagement for an audit.

* Accepted a milk bid.
