R-5 board gets update on special education program

The Nevada R-5 Board of Education will hear reports from Angie Selsor on the district's special education programs and from Misti Raney on the district's federally funded programs during its monthly meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Central Office, 811 West Hickory.

Other items on the agenda include an update on the budget from R-5 Superintendent Dr. David Stephens, a report on the Missouri School Improvement Plan 5 from Diane Marti and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tyson Beshore will tell the board about the districts surplus items auction.

The board will also vote on several policy revisions, a new account for electronic transactions and establishing a new account for employee health savings accounts, and approve the consent agenda.

The consent agenda includes approval of the agenda and the minutes from the previous meeting, payment of bills, monthly reports and the substitute list.

The meeting agenda also calls for a closed session for hiring, termination disciplining or promoting employees.
