Nevada cross country runs at Bolivar meet

The Nevada Tigers and Lady Tigers cross country runners competed Tuesday at Bolivar.

Ben Sommer finished 24th in the varsity boys' 5,000-meter race with a time of 18 minutes, 44 seconds and Kieran Cain was 99th at 23:02. Virginia Haverstic finished 39th in the girls' varsity race with a time of 25:14.

In the middle school boys' 1.5-mile race, Trent Ellis finished 46th with a time of 11:54, Luke Sudcamp was 83rd at 13:30, Ethan Volkman finished 94th at 14:57 and Devin McHugh was 99th at 15:09. In the middle school girls' race, Sydnee Brandt was 116th with a time of 15:46.

The cross country runners are scheduled to be back in action at Iola, Kan., next Tuesday.
