Nevada Middle School volleyball competes at home

The Nevada Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams got back into action at home Tuesday night, putting on strong showings against McDonald County Middle School. Head coach Marsha Hooper's seventh-grade squads opened the night with a split, winning the A-team match by the final scores of 25-5 and 25-5 before dropping the B-team match, 28-26 and 25-22. Head coach Gail Wilson's eighth-grade squads had a little bit better luck on the night as they swept McDonald County, 25-15 and 25-20. Abby Norcross served for nine points in the A-team match and Lily Quitno served for six points in the A game and again in the B-team match. "We are improving, moving to defense faster and gaining more confidence," Nevada Middle School eighth-grade volleyball coach Gail Wilson said.
