Mae L. Watt, 89, of Arcadia, Kan., went to be with the Lord at 11:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home in Fort Scott, Kan.

Mrs. Watt was born June 4, 1924, at Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of Martin Darlington and Gladys Ward Wright.

Mae was a homemaker who was a life-long resident of Arcadia. She was raised in Arcadia and attended Cato and Arcadia schools. She graduated from Northeast High School in Arma.

She married Delton R. Watt Sr. on Aug. 9, 1946, at Girard, Kan. Mr. Watt preceded her in death Sept. 1, 1996.

She and her husband Delton owned and operated the Watts Circle Inn a mile west of Arcadia for 50 years.

She was a member of the Arcadia Christian Church and the VFW Auxiliary at Fort Scott.

Survivors include four sons, Bill R. (Karen) Watt of Napoleon, Mo., Delton R. Jr. (Kim) Watt of Fayette, Mo., Thomas R. (Phyllis) Watt of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Allen R. (Linda) Watt of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, John Darlington of Saluda, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for Mae is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Arcadia Christian Church with the Revs. Charles Cable and Dalton Windsor officiating. Burial will be at the Sheffield Cemetery near Arcadia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma.

The family suggests memorials to the Arcadia Christian Church, the Fort Scott Manor Activity Fund, or Southern Care Hospice. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
