Emma Ruth Dillon, 82, Nevada, Mo., passed away Nov. 24, 2013, at her home in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Tullahoma, Tenn., to Okie Albert and Josie Peyton (McGowen) Inman. She married Robert Clarence Dillon on Aug. 25, 1950, in McPherson, Kan., and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2011.

Ruth, as she was known, grew up in Tennessee, moved to Florida, then later moved to McPherson, Kan. She attended both high school and college at Central College also in McPherson. It was there that she met and married Robert. They lived many years in Kansas, Iowa and Colorado, before moving to Arizona. For many years Ruth took care of children and provided child care in her home. She enjoyed sewing and baking for her family and friends throughout her life. She and Robert worked together in prison ministry for 10 years in Arizona bringing the word of God to those in need.

Survivors include four children, Mark Dillon and his wife, Rita, of St. Paul, Minn., Peggy Doucette, of the home, Mary Kathleen Yoder and her husband, Bob, of Milo, Mo., and John Dillon of the home; two sisters, to whom she was very close, Naomi Walton and her husband, Herald, of Manitou Springs, Colo., and Albertine Rue and her husband, Robert, of Wichita, Kan.; 17 grandchildren, Mara Solis and her husband, Beto, Courtney Dillon and his wife, Alyssa, Jennifer Morey and her husband, Daniel, Michael Doucette, Coco Moore and her husband, Jason, Emily Myers and her husband, Daniel, Skip Yoder and his wife, Rebekah, Buck Yoder, Isaac Yoder and his wife, Kelly, Enoch Yoder, Sunshine Yoder, Patience Yoder, Ezekiel Yoder, Andrew Dillon, Laura Dillon, Benjamin Dillon, and James Dillon; 10 great-grandchildren, Adele Morey, Abigail Morey, Nathanael Moore, Timothy Moore, Betsy Anna Moore, Isaiah Moore, Samuel Moore, Candace Moore, Levi Yoder, and Katie Beth Yoder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aside from her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Lois Dillon.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at the Nazarene Church, Nevada, with the Revs. Mike Satterlee, Clayson Lyons, and Daniel Dickey officiating. Interment will follow at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Friends may call now and until the hour of service.
