Bonnie Lee Craig, 85, of Spring Hill, passed away Jan. 27, 2014, at Good Samaritan Rehab, in Olathe.

Bonnie was born June 26, 1928, in Rockville, Mo., to Gottlob Fredrick "GF" and Christine Mundinger Layher. She grew up in Walker, Mo., and married Dory Doyle Craig, in Nevada, on Dec. 25, 1947. They lived in Lenexa, Kan., then retired to Greers Ferry, Ark., and moved to Spring Hill in 2002. She was employed as a proofreader by Deluxe Check Printers for 22 1/2 years, retiring in 1988. Bonnie was known for her strong work ethic. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching. Bonnie will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; and six half-sisters. Bonnie is survived by Dory, her husband of 66 years; two sons, Mark and wife, Cindy Craig, Olathe, Kan., and Steve and wife, Sue Craig, Spring Hill, Kan.; daughter, Cris and husband, Duane Wood, Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Gottlob Layher, Nevada.

Visitation is at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S Washington, Nevada. Graveside services follow at 1 p.m., at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Memorial contributions may be made to Gardner Community Garden in care of Knights of Columbus, 814 E. Main, Gardner, KS 66030.
