BRONAUGH -- The Bronaugh High School boys' basketball team carved out its eighth win of the season with a 62-41 victory over visiting Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School Monday night.

The Wildcats built a 14-8 advantage after the contest's first 8 minutes and continued to steadily add to that margin, outscoring their opponents, 14-11, in the second period to take a 28-19 halftime lead.

The gap continued to grow throughout the game as Bronaugh picked up the scoring even more in the second half, knocking down 17 points in each of the last two quarters, while holding the visitors to 11 in each frame.

It was 45-30 with 8 minutes remaining and the game was never in doubt in the final quarter.

It was a balanced scoring effort for the victors, who had nine players producing points. Chance Wait led Bronaugh with 12, while Cole Diggins added 10, Jacob Hendrix, Bryce Whitworth and Thomas Kerbs each had nine, Gabe McIntire six, Justin Hudson three and Parker Bott and Parker Norman two.

Bronaugh is scheduled to host Humansville Thursday night, weather permitting.
