Nevada man killed in accident

A Monday afternoon vehicle collision near Bronaugh left one driver dead, and another with minor injuries. The accident, on Highway 43 near N Highway, occurred around 4:15 p.m.

According to a crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Thomas Smith of Nevada was driving eastbound when he pulled into the path of southbound Tyler Bohannon, of Adrian.

Smith's vehicle was totaled. He was pronounced dead at Nevada Regional Medical Center nearly an hour following the accident. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home.

Bohannon's vehicle sustained what the Highway Patrol called extensive damage. He was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted an accident reconstruction Wednesday to further investigate the accident. Results from that investigation are not yet available.
