Nevada tennis defeats Fort Scott at home

Hoping to rebound from a shutout loss to Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday and an 8-1 loss at Carthage Thursday, the Nevada Tigers tennis team made its return to the home courts against Fort Scott Friday. By the time all was said and done, head coach Clay Wheeler's squad did just that, defeating Fort Scott, 5-4.

In doubles competition, Skyler Laning and Anthony Do defeated Gage Addington and Alex Combs, 8-4, while Gabriel Garcia and Myles Coffer beat Raifen Cruse and Jacob Bailey by the same score. In singles, Do earned an 8-6 victory over Combs, Garcia beat Quinton Parsons, 8-5, and Coffer capped off the evening with an 8-0 shutout victory over Bailey.

Next on the schedule for the Tigers is Tuesday, when they head back out on the road to take on Carl Junction. That dual is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., at Carl Junction.
