Community Council on the Performing Arts seeks support

Friday, May 16, 2014

Dear Editor:

The Community Council on the Performing Arts (CCPA) is revving up to launch its fundraising drive for the 2014-2015 season.

As part of this effort, the hardworking volunteers of the CCPA board will be reaching out to the community for support.

Anyone can do this by purchasing ad space in the program book, making a tax-deductible donation or by sponsoring a show. Each option provides great exposure for the sponsor!

Aside from exposure, the money is used to incorporate culture and camaraderie that contributes to the betterment of our community.

Of course, advertising dollars and donations are used to operate the organization and increase attendance.

However, even more meaningful, we feel that a donation to the CCPA is an investment in our city. Community theatre provides tangible benefits to a community and is associated with an increased quality of life. For example, performers improve their communication skills, critical thinking skills, social skills and creativity. Audience members experience pleasure, intellectual stimulation and an increased sense of community from a shared experience. So, if you are approached about making a donation to the CCPA, we hope you will say "YES!" to maintaining a vibrant community theatre in Nevada. We are so grateful to all our sponsors and patrons who have supported us over the years, and we look forward to entertaining you for many more years to come. Please visit our website for more information about supporting the CCPA, or to make a donation at www.nevadamoccpa.org.
