Nevada police make arrest in statutory rape investigation

The parents of a local 14-year-old boy reported to police that their son had been the victim of an unlawful sexual experience with a 23-year-old Nevada woman.

Police began an investigation of the allegations which confirmed evidence of an illegal act.

Warrants were issued by the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court for the arrest of:

Whitney Elizabeth Collins

Collins was charged with a Class C Felony - Statutory Rape -- 2nd Degree. Nevada Detectives arrested the defendant who is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond.
