Deena Kay Erb, 55, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away July 27, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Deena was born Jan. 12, 1959, in Nevada, Mo., to Elton Eugene and Helen Nadine (Spencer) Anders. She grew up in Walker, Mo., and attended Walker High School then went on to receive her LPN license from Fort Scott Community College. Deena married Paul Gerard Erb on Feb. 10, 1979, in Nevada. They lived in Albert, Kan., then they moved to Bucklin, Kan., for 15 years and then to Spring Hill in 2009.

She was an LPN for 35 years, working for Olathe Family Practice, Dodge City Medical Center and Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. On Aug. 1, 1983, Deena converted to Catholicism and is a member of the Divine Mercy Parish in Gardner. She was an avid KU and Royals fan and enjoyed gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Deena was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Cooper and sister, Kathy Anders. She is survived by her husband, of the home; children, Preston (Kim) Erb, of Pitt Meadows, B.C., Canada, Kenton (Julie) Erb, of Silver Lake, Kan., Danae (William) Hull, of Overland Park, Kan., and Kelsey (Curtis) Grote, of Hutchinson, Kan.; grandchildren, Carley, Brandon, Claire, Carson, Ella, Easton, Hannah, and Allison; siblings, Kenny Anders, of Nevada, and Carol Prough, of Schell City, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main St., Gardner, KS 66030. Burial following at St. Columbine Catholic Cemetery, in Edgerton, Kan. Rosary will be at 5 p.m., with a visitation from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S.
