Joining Amalia Harris and Dazjah Bryant in the Cottey basketball recruiting class, are:

Madison Coose, is a 6-0 post player out of Lockwood. Coose eclipsed the 1,000 point mark as a four-year starter in high school, averaging 13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Coose was also a state medalist in track and field (high jump), and the 4 x 400 relay. Coose was All-Conference in three sports.

"Madison gives us that inside presence we need on the defensive end and in rebounding," Cottey head basketball coach Stephanie Beason said. "She is an outstanding athlete who will become a much better player now that she is concentrating on one sport. We think that she and (returning starter) Linsey Denney will make a great tandem inside and will be extremely hard to guard."

Ashley Roberts, is a 5-7 guard out of Skyline High School in Urbana. During her high school career, Roberts was named to the All-Conference and All-District teams three times. Roberts was a four-year starter who scored over 1,000 points. Additionally, Roberts helped lead her team to a state championship as well as a runner-up finish.

"Ashley is a really versatile guard who can score in a variety of ways," Beason said. "She can shoot the deep 3-point shot, create her own shot off the dribble, and can get it to the rim. She is an outstanding athlete and rarely makes mistakes with the ball. Ashley will bring a dimension to the guard position that we have not had in some time here. She will make us better, and looks to compete for a starting position immediately."
