Camp Clark Land Use meeting Oct. 21

Saturday, October 11, 2014

The Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission will host a public meeting to present a Joint Land Use Study for Camp Clark and to receive public comments and questions on the report Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m., at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center.

The public is welcome and all are encouraged to attend and to participate.

The Joint Land Use Study has been an ongoing project between Camp Clark, the city of Nevada, Vernon County, and the community since January.

The objective of the study is to identify ways of maintaining and enhancing land use compatibility between the National Guard mission at Camp Clark and the lands surrounding the training center.

The study has been overseen and includes the recommendations of two steering committees comprised of Vernon County and Nevada elected officials, government staff members, a local landowner, utility representatives, business community members, and National Guard officials.
