Cheryl A. Swink, 59, of Stotesbury, Mo., passed from this life on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., following a brief illness. Cheryl was born Aug. 13, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Billy Joe Rayburn and Doris June (Wooldridge) Rayburn. She was united in marriage to Charles V. Swink in Miami, Okla., on June 18, 1980, and he survives of the home.

Cheryl was raised in the Moundville area and attended Bronaugh School and graduated with the Class of 1973 from Bronaugh High School. Cheryl was employed by the Nevada State Hospital for 16 years as a nurse-assistant, and later worked for 3M for 13 years. She was working as a skilled nurse for several years, until health problems caused her to take retirement. Cheryl had resided in the Stotesbury area for the past 31 years. Her memberships included the Nevada Eagles No. 3770 and the American Legion No. 2, in Nevada.

In addition to her husband survivors include her children, Lynna Overman and her husband, Mark, Sheldon, Mo., Jackie Vinzant, Nevada, Charles K. Swink and his wife, Silissa, Hume, Mo., Rebecca Pruitt and her husband, Ben, Blue Springs, Mo., Connie Swink, Nevada, and Vernon Swink and his wife, Vanessa, Fair Play, Mo.; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Rayburn, Nevada, and Mike Rayburn, Liberal, Mo.; sister, Pam Smith, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Rayburn; and grandson, Keaton Charles Swink.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor Lyle Schaulis officiating. Interment will follow at East Liberty Cemetery, Stotesbury, Mo. Friends may call now until the hour of service.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Childrens Mercy Hospital in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
