Playing in the El Dorado Springs boys basketball tournament Friday night, the Nevada Tigers seventh-grade team defeated the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs 32-15, improving to 2-0. The Tigers clicked on all cylinders early, and led 22-0 at halftime.

"Defensively, shutting out a team is pretty good," Nevada head coach Robert Miner said. "I was very pleased with the first half."

With Nevada leading 26-2 early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run. Rayden Mather's offensive rebound and layup ended the El Dorado Springs run, and put Nevada on top 28-10.

"The second-team guys coming in there, they haven't gotten the reps that the starters have," Miner said. "They haven't played together yet ---- and that's one of the things they need to work on."

Miner said he has identified some areas that he would like to see his team improve in.

"Rebounding, free throw shooting, and our set plays," Miner said.

Nevada plays Camdenton in the champion game, which is slated for 11:30 a.m., today.
