Jeanette Elvira Bailey, 79, Nevada, Mo., passed away from this life on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada, following a brief illness. Jeanette was born March 18, 1935, in North Kansas City, Mo., to Martin D. Allison and Velma Callen Allison. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Welcome Bailey on May 14, 1954.

Jeanette was raised in North Kansas City and lived most of her life there. She was a longtime member of the Gladstone Church of the Nazarene. Jeanette was employed for many years at the Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary before retiring from the Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City. In 2007, she moved to Nevada, where she had resided since that time.

Survivors include two children, Steve Bailey and his wife, Becky, of Lenexa, Kan., and Pastor Chad Bailey and his wife, Ruth, of Nevada, Mo.; five grandchildren, Samantha, David, Rodger, Logan, and Adam; two brothers, Paul Allison, of Kansas City, Mo., and Sam Allison, of Gladstone, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois Miller; and her son, Roger.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty, Mo. A visitation is planned for 6 to 8 p.m., today, at the funeral home. Interment is in the Terrace Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Pine Street Baptist Church, 240 N. Pine, Nevada, Mo.
