Betty Lou Radde

Betty Lou was born Nov. 9, 1924, near Swea City, Iowa, to Lue and Stella Bishop. She passed from this life Feb. 23, 2015. At the age of 5 her family moved to Missouri.

Graduating from Walker High School in 1943, she married Roy Hawkins on June 5, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan. Roy and Betty had no children. Betty drove a school bus for 28 years, so they had special relationship with several children. Roy preceded her in death July 27, 2005. Betty married Norman Radde on July 3, 2006. She worked for the city of Walker for 34 years. Betty was a member of the Community Christian Church of Nevada.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Clifford Bishop and Sid Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Norman Radde; a stepson, Jerry Radde and wife, Lenna, of Marietta, Okla.; nephew, Bill Bishop and wife, Sue, of Owatonna, Minn.; a great-nephew, Brad Bishop, of Owatonna, Minn.; a great-niece, Jennifer McGuire and husband, Greg, and their daughter, Nora McGuire, of Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. A family visitation will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Friends may call after 9 a.m., Thursday, and until the hour of service on Friday at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Community Christian Church, Nevada, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
