Bronaugh girls blitz Appleton City in semis

Bronaugh defeated Appleton City 61-36 in the semifinals of the Missouri girls Class 1 District 7 basketball tournament, in Appleton City, Thursday night.

Bronaugh built a decisive 28-6 lead in the first eight minutes and was never threatened. The Wildcats padded their advantage in the second quarter behind an 18-7 margin, good for a 46-13 margin at the half.

Appleton City managed to reverse the trend in the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 12-6 and then matched points with a slight edge in the fourth, at 11-9, but the game had already been decided.

Martell Moore fired in 20 points, Taylor Stratford 15, Mandy Murphy 11, Amanda Raper 10 and Katey Rider 5 .
