Myles Miller, from the Nevada Youth Football League, told the Nevada Parks Board Wednesday, the league is planning to join a league with several Kansas towns and to meet facility requirements, they will need to enlarge the current field at Twin Lakes from its current 80 yard length to a 100-yard regulation field.

"I am asking for permission to do this," Miller said.

Miller told the board that although the field will not be needed until August, the work will need to be done soon so there will be time to move the fences and let the grass grow before playing season begins.

In response to a question from a board member, he said they might have to move the existing lights to cover the longer field.

"We will need lights on the practice area as well," he said

Miller told the board they normally have about 120 players

The new league will consist of Nevada, and four Kansas teams in Fort Scott, Pittsburg, Kan., Pittsburg-Colgan and Columbus.

The item will be on the board's March agenda for discussion.
