Donald Lee Claypool

Donald Lee Claypool, 86, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Monday, May 11, 2015, at his home in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. Donald was born on Sept. 6, 1928, in Richards, Mo., to Raymond Edward and Ida Irene (Streich) Claypool. On July 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Maus, in Nevada, and she preceded him in death in 1994.

Donald was raised in the Richards area and attended school in Metz. He graduated from Metz High School with the Class of 1946. Following his school years he began employment at the Nevada State Hospital as a warehouse clerk, working there for more than 25 years, until his retirement. In addition, Donald also operated a dairy farm for many years. He has resided in Nevada for the past 36 years.

Survivors include his children; one daughter, Phyllis Ellifrits and her husband, Arthur, Kingsville, Mo.; three sons, Phil Claypool and his wife, Janice, Liberty, Mo., J Claypool of the home, and Larry Claypool and his wife, Shelly, Nevada; six grandchildren, Jason, Sonya, Tristan, Zach, Tyler, and Treyton; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Claypool and his wife, Lucille, Richards, and Gary and his wife, Marilee, Nevada. In addition to his wife, Jeanette, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Click Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Click Cemetery Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
