Deborah Ann Willson Wheatley

Deborah Ann Willson Wheatley, 53, of Tijeras, N.M., passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the University of NM Hospital, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was born on April 16, 1962, in Nevada, Mo., to Gilbert and Eleanor ( McDermott) Willson. She was united in marriage to Marty Wheatley on Nov. 18, 1984, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Debbie grew up in Vernon County and attended school in Walker, graduating from Walker High School in 1980. She then attended SMSU in Springfield, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1985.

Debbie was a loving wife and dedicated teacher to many children in Schell City, Walker, El Dorado Springs and the Moriarty School District in New Mexico.

In addition to her husband, Marty, Debbie is survived by her parents; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Wheatley and Sharon Wheatley; sister-in-law, Allison Willson; nieces, Kelsey, Emily, Breanne, and Claire, all of Archie, Mo.; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and special friends.

Preceding her in death was her brother, Rob Willson; and grandparents, R.L. and Anna Mae Willson, and Bill McDermott and Evelyn McDermott.

A family service was held Saturday, Aug. 1, at the French Funeral Home, in Albuquerque, N.M.

Graveside services will be held at Newton Cemetery at a later date. Local arrangements are entrusted to the Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
