Norma Lee Crouse

Norma Lee Crouse, 89, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada, after a brief illness. Norma was born April 11, 1926, in Rockville, Mo., to Francis Edwin and Gordon Ethel (Ethridge) Nolin. She was united in marriage to Calvin E. Crouse on Nov. 26, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1992.

Norma grew up in Rockville. She attended Rockville High School and graduated with the Class of 1942. Following high school she attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. Norma worked at Nevada State Hospital for 28 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she was very active in helping with Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Norma also donated her time volunteering in local elections, and with the Moss House. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her many close friends.

Survivors include her children, a daughter, Norma Brown and her husband, Ray, Lee's Summit; three sons, Don Crouse and his wife, Marja, Olathe, Kan., Fred Crouse and his wife, Terri, Clever, Mo., and Alan Crouse and his wife, Sharon, Nevada, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Chris Brown, Aaron Brown, Michelle Needham, Riann Lubinski, Matt Crouse, Michal Smith, Dawn Marie Best, and Amanda Walters; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
