Phyllis Arlene Liles, 80, of Horton, Mo., went to be with Jesus on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. Phyllis passed at Nevada Nursing & Rehabilitation following a year of declining health. Phyllis was born Dec. 19, 1934, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., the daughter of Wilbur and Mae (Ogle) Pray. She was united in marriage to George Emmett Liles on June 25, 1955, in Dederick, and he survives in their home.

Phyllis graduated from Walker High School with the Class of 1952. She worked for a short time while in Kansas City before becoming a dedicated farm wife. Phyllis devoted her entire life serving her family and others. She was a faithful member of the Rinehart Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, George, survivors include her daughter, Anita Troth (Gary), Mound City, Kan.; sons, Kenneth Liles (Connie), Horton, Mo., and Jim Liles, Nevada, Mo.; sisters, Alice West (Larry), Austin, Texas, and Donna Davidson, Walker, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, plus twins expecting to arrive next month; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and special friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Vicky Liles; and a special uncle and aunt, Elvis and Mabel McCrory.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28, in the Ferry Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Mrs. Liles may be viewed Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Rinehart Christian Church (Building Fund) with the church or funeral home serving as custodian.
