Bronaugh, NEVC, Hume fall in district volleyball tournaments

The Bronaugh Lady Wildcats and Northeast Vernon County Knights volleyball teams fell in the opening rounds of the their respective district tournaments.

Lady Wildcats

Fifth-seeded Bronaugh was defeated Monday in the Class 1 District 12 tournament in two sets by fourth-seeded Golden City in the opening-round at Liberal.

The Lady Wildcats concluded their season 11-12-1 overall.

Lady Knights

The Northeast Vernon County Lady Knights were downed by Appleton City in two sets in the opening-round of the Class 1 District 11 tournament Monday at Rich Hill High School.

NEVC wrapped up its season with a 2-13 overall record.

Lady Hornets

The Hume Lady Hornets fell in two sets to top-seeded Osceola in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 11 tournament, Tuesday in Rich Hill.

Hume won its opening-round game against Lakeland in two sets. The Golden Valley Vernon County Conference champion Lady Hornets finished the season 12-8 overall.

Lady Panthers

The Sheldon Lady Panthers did not participate in district-tournament play. Sheldon finished its season 1-17 overall.
