Coming off a tough double-overtime defeat in Warrensburg Friday night, the Nevada Tigers varsity basketball team was back on the road, this time matching up with Butler, where they fell 58-39.

The Tigers led 12-7 at the conclusion of the first quarter and 20-14 at halftime. The Tigers hit a rough patch in the third quarter, as post players Clay Gayman and Patrick Ferry were both in foul trouble. Butler was able to capitalize on this, outscoring Nevada 23-10 to grab a 37-30 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Butler stayed hot in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 21-9 for the final 19-point margin.

For Nevada, Matt Sommer was the only Tiger to score in double-figures, finishing with 10 points, while Gayman and Brett Mitchell chipped in nine points apiece. With the non-conference loss, the Tigers are 13-8 overall.
