Miller, Swink medal at state wrestling tourney

COLUMBIA , Mo.---- According to www.mshsaa.org, Nevada High School senior Dayton Miller was defeated Friday in the MSHSAA Class 2 State Wrestling Tournament quarterfinals by Cameron's Justin Gans in the 126-pound weight-class. Miller bounced back later Friday in the second-round Wrestlebacks with a 10-8 decision over Oak Grove's Tanner Pavlica. In the third-round (consolation) Wrestlebacks Friday evening, Miller won by 11-3 major decision over Dylan Hellebusch of St. Francis Borgia, advancing to the fourth-round (consolation semifinals) Wrestlebacks Saturday morning. There, Miller won by fall over Winfield's Ben Provost, advancing to the Class 2 third-place match. Miller ended his illustrious prep wrestling career on a high-note, taking home a third-place medal after recording a 6-3 decision over Christian Zeik of Liberty (Wentzville). Miller concludes his senior campaign with 52-5 overall record. Miller's collection of hardware includes back-to-back state runner-up medals, and a third-place medal.
