Barbara J. Stepp, 71, of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born on Nov. 12, 1944, in Lexington, Neb., to Herbert T. Walters and Leora M. (Richards) Walters. She married Claude Neff Bishop and to this union her four children were born; he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1980. She then married Floyd Stepp on April 28, 1984, in Aurora, Colo., and he survives of the home.

Barbara was raised in Commerce City, Colo., and was a graduate of Adams City High School in Adams City, Colo. She lived and worked for World Savings & Loan, in Denver, for a number of years. Barbara came to Nevada in November 1984 and worked for Nevada City Hospital until her retirement. She lived for her grandchildren and enjoyed being outside.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Floyd, include her four children, Pam Bozworth and her husband, Richard Jr., Nevada, Jeffrey Bishop, Nevada, Mark Bishop, Moundville, and Gregory Bishop and his wife, Christina, Nevada; stepdaughter, Teresa Hampton, Springfield, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Rodney Walters, Thornton, Colo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 22, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor Chad Bailey officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
