The Bronaugh Lady Wildcats were dealt a close three-set loss, falling Tuesday at home to Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School.

Bronaugh (7-10-3) dropped the first set 25-14 before rebounding to take the second set 25-17. The third and final set went down to the wire as Thomas Jefferson prevailed 25-23.

"The girls fought hard tonight," Lady Cats head coach Daryl Dodson said. "We just had a couple of things not go our way in the end. I was real pleased with our play in games two and three."

For Bronaugh, Katy Rider had a team-high nine kills. The Bronaugh junior varsity team was also in action Tuesday against Thomas Jefferson, as they fell in a one-set match 25-17.

Up next

Bronaugh hosts the Northeast Vernon County Lady Knights, with the match slated for 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Following volleyball, Bronaugh will square off against NEVC in junior high basketball action.
