Mary Maxine Sharp
Mary Maxine Sharp daughter of Homer Clyde and Jewell Fern Sharp was born March 10, 1920 in Taberville, Mo. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 after a short illness. She was the center of her family and will be dearly missed but she is celebrating in heaven with her family and friends.
She attended grade school in Middletown and Schell City, Mo. and finally Pleasant Hill, Mo. until her graduation in 1937. She attended college for three semesters prior to marrying Frank.
She married Frank Madison Littell on Aug. 28, 1938 in Kansas City, Mo. She met Frank while he was working at the Sharp stores when they were teenagers. They then owned and operated Littell's Market in Osceola, Mo. from May 1947 through Sept. 5, 1979.
Frank and Maxine had two sons, Bart and Jim Littell. She loved family, home, the Lord, cooking and her church. During her years in Osceola, Maxine and Frank were members of First Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, she taught vacation bible school, participated in the bus program (making Jim drive the bus) and the Baptist Hill summer camp. She was Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and she was an outstanding bridge player. After selling the grocery store they enjoyed many years of traveling, including yearly trips to Brownsville, Texas, with the camping club. After Frank's passing in 1990, she later worked at the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home until she moved to Nevada in 1996. After moving to Nevada, she joined the First Baptist Church of Nevada and was involved in the Pie Ministry and the Prayer Room.
Fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, bridge and taking care of her grandchildren and dogs were some of her favorite pastimes. She most enjoyed being with her family. Maxine and Frank were blessed on Aug. 28, 1988 in celebrating 50 years of marriage together. She took an active part in her community. Her willingness to care and give was truly evidenced throughout her life.
