Larry Dale "Bogie" Bogart

Larry Dale "Bogie" Bogart, 62, Sheldon, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Dec. 18, following a lengthy illness. Larry was born May 2, 1954, in Lamar, to Robert Franklin and Georgia Corine (Ford) Bogart. On Feb. 25, 1977, he was united in marriage to Leslie Gintz in Lamar and she survives of the home.

Larry was raised in the Sheldon area. He attended school in Bronaugh and graduated from Bronaugh High School Class of 1972. Following high school Larry worked for Thorco in Lamar for four years. In December of 1976 he began working for 3M in Nevada where he continued to work until his retirement in 2013. Larry was a lifelong resident of the Sheldon area and a member of the Bronaugh United Methodist Church. He loved to fish, and hunt, but mainly enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Leslie he is survived by three children, Stacy Taylor, Sheldon, Melissa Griffitt, Sheldon, Michael Bogart and his wife Shelby, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Anthony Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Alicia Taylor, Mandy Radspinner, Cori Griffitt, Riley Griffitt, Kimber Bogart; three great-grandchildren, Bailee Buck, Levi Taylor, Emily Taylor; one sister, Roberta Cassatt, Nevada; one brother, Robert L. Bogart, Sheldon; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Edward Allan Bogart.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Kay Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
