Lois M. Cox

Lois M. Cox, 86, Arvada, Colo., formerly of the Nevada area, passed away on Jan. 25, at Almost Like Home Memory Care Facility in Arvada, Colo. She was born on July 24, 1930, at home in Vernon County to Landon William Palmer and Mary Harris Palmer. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1948.

Lois married her high school sweetheart on Sept. 17, 1949, in Nevada. She was a housewife and mother.

Survivors include two sons, Ed Cox and his wife, LaDonna, of Fort Scott, and Bill Cox and his wife, Nancy Ing, of College Station, Texas; two daughters, Kathi Likes, of Arvada, Colo., and Kay Afshar and her husband, David, of Hollister, Mo.; six grandchildren, Sarah Cox, Bobby Afshar, Dusty Afshar, Aurora Cox, Kaleb Afshar and Westley Cox; one sister, Joan Laos; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Cox; her sister, Jane Waldrip; and her brother, Robert Palmer.
