The Nevada Lady Tiger volleyball team's wildly successful season got even better this week as five student-athletes from coach Ashley Thoreson's squad were named to the Academic All-State team.

The requirements for this prestigious achievement are: the athlete must have a cumulative 3.6 grade point average or higher and they must have participated in at least 75 percent of the 2016 varsity matches.

Lady Tigers named to the Academic All-State team, were: seniors Megan Hold, Margaret Cavener, McKinley Ellis, Elena Rodriguez, and sophomore Adrian Bond.

"Congratulations to each of these student-athletes on their hard work and focus in the classroom as well as a very successful 2016 season!" Thoreson said.

The Lady Tigers concluded their campaign 22-13 overall en route to the Class 3 District 12 crown, the first under Thoreson.
