Claudine Burns, 66, of Nevada, passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was born on March 24, 1950, in Lamar, to Claude William Miller and Dorothy Alice (Welch) Miller. She married Jack R. Burns on June 4, 1968, in Sheldon, and he survives of the home.
Claudine was raised on a farm near Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1968. She worked for Professional Home Improvement in Nevada for many years until 2009. Claudine loved to sew and make clothes for her family, helping her granddaughter with sewing projects in 4-H. She loved fishing and most of all being with her family.
Survivors include her husband Jack; daughter Jacquelin Haner and her husband, Tim, Nevada, and their daughters, Kimberly Schieffer and her husband, Kyle, and Makayla Haner; son, Danny Lee Burns, Nevada, and his son, Jacob; sister, Mary Lou Periman, Nevada; and niece, Louann Williams, Joplin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Gene Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
