Clara Louise Mallicoat

Clara Louise Mallicoat passed away peacefully Sept. 16, at the Nevada Medicalodge surrounded by loved ones and many friends. She was born May 5, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., to Lyndon Elmer and Pauline Opal (Flinn) Kuntz.

Being raised in Kansas City, she was baptized at an early age; and then graduated from Rosedale High School. Following high school, she worked locally at an olive packing plant, and some years later she moved with her parents to Tiffin, Mo., where they resided on a farm.

Following their move to Cedar County, she met and married Herbert L. Miller and from this union, one son was born, Marvin Lee (Butch) Miller. On June 15, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jasper D. Mallicoat, and they resided in El Dorado Springs and enjoyed over 35 years together before his passing.

Locally, she worked at Nelly Don, in Nevada, International Shoe Company, and retired from Dunbrook. After her retirement they enjoyed many years at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing and camping, as well as traveling abroad, making lots of memories together. They also enjoyed the company of their grandchildren, as they made and shared great memories together.

Louise lived a wonderful and amazing 94 years. She will be greatly missed and was loved by all who met her. She was the most kind, caring, and loving mother and “Grandma Weezie” anyone could ever ask for.

Louise is survived by her son, Marvin Lee Miller (Lora), of Nevada; grandchildren, André Miller (Marla) and Casey Sims (Bruce), all of Greenfield, Mo.; Anthony Miller (Lindsay), of Neosho, MO; and Victoria Miller (Logan), of Madison, Ind.; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, JD.

Funeral services for Louise Mallicoat will be held today, at 2 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland Hackleman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on today from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are André Miller, Anthony Miller, Jordon Miller, Holden Miller, Hayden Sims, Bruce Roseman, Trenton Wilson and Logan Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VFW Auxillary, the Eastern Star, or Hospice Compassus of Lamar and left at the funeral home.
