Marjorie Hofmockel Glynn

Marjorie Hofmockel Glynn, 88, Walker, passed away on Monday, September 25, at her home surrounded by and cared for by her loving family. Marjorie was born August 11, 1929, to Cecil and Kathleen Kier Hofmockel. Marjorie grew up on the family farm in Mills County Iowa. Marjorie attended Center and Estes County schools and Tabor High School, graduating with the class of 1946. She was baptized at the Glenwood Christian Church in 1946.

Marjorie attended business school in Omaha, Neb., for a brief time before marrying the love of her life, Robert Paul Glynn on October 5, 1946. After their marriage, Bob and Marjorie moved to a farm northeast of Tabor, Iowa, farming the ground and raising cattle and hogs for 29 years before moving to a ranch near Edwards, Mo., in 1975. In 1986 they moved to a farm near Taberville, Mo., before settling on their current home north of Walker in 1994.

Marjorie was proceeded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her devoted husband of almost 71 years, Robert; her four children, Kathy (Bob) Seipold, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Vicki (Denny) Schroeder, Malvern, Iowa, Mike (Kay) Glynn Hastings, Iowa, and Lora (Mike) O’Donnell, Edwards, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Tara Seipold, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Renae Seipold, Omaha, Neb., Ryan (Carrie) Schroeder, Papillion, Neb., Amy (Nik) Sharp, Farmington, Minn., Beth (James) Shepard, Council Bluffs, Iowa, John (Kelsie) Glynn, Muscatine, Iowa, Sarah (Tyler) Fonseca, Fort Lee, Va., Travis (Alyson) Glynn, Muscatine, Iowa, Michael (Melissa) O’Donnell, O’Fallon, Mo., Bridgett (Jason) Glover, Columbia, Ill.; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dick (Patty) Hofmockel, Council Bluffs, Iowa; and two nieces, Stacey (Jim) Kalhorn, Glenwood, Iowa and Jill (John) Ham, Iowa City, Iowa.

Marjorie was a member of the Walker Christian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with memorials going to the Walker Christian Church. Private family services will be held at a later date.
