Comets dispatch Allen County in regular-season finale

The Cottey Comet volleyball team breezed to a four-set victory over visiting Allen County (Kan.) Community College, Wednesday night at Hinkhouse Center, as Cottey put the finishing touches on its regular-season.

The victory improves Cottey to 12-10 overall, while Allen County tumbles to 0-36 on the season.

A slow start cost the Comets, as Allen County took the opening set 25-18. Cottey quickly rebounded, rolling to a 25-14 second-set victory. With the third set tied 17-17, the Comets hit Allen County with an 8-0 blitz to close out the set in dominant fashion. Allen County was unable find any answers for the elite front-row play of freshman middle hitter Anna Walley,as the Comets took the fourth set going away, 25-12.
