George Francis Kuhlman, 90, of Moundville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, at his home following a period of illness. George was born Dec. 2, 1927, in rural Moundville, the son of Albert and Emma (Bowen) Kuhlman. He married Peggy Rose Starr on July 7, 1950, and she survives of the home.

George was born, lived all his life, and died in the same house in rural Moundville. He attended school at Moore School in rural Vernon County. He farmed and raised cattle all his life. George also worked as a carpenter and drove the township grader for the past 30 years. He was always proud of the condition he kept the roads in. George loved playing music with his dad, brother Fred, and daughter Debbie. He was an excellent mechanic and loved tinkering with old tractors and cars. He also loved to hunt and fish. George was a member of the Moundville Methodist church.

In addition to his wife Peggy, survivors include one daughter, Debbie L Wintjen, Moundville; four grandchildren, Corey Wintjen, Moundville, Andrea (Mogan) Miller and her husband Sim, Nevada, Brittany (Wintjen) Haynes and husband Chris, Moundville, Ryan Wooldridge and his wife Cathie, Nevada; 10 great grandchildren, Chevy Wintjen, Paxton and Easton Wooldridge, Trinity, Brady and Corbin Haynes and Ivie, Neveah, Rilynn and Logan Miller; one brother, Fred Kuhlman and his wife Opal, Wichita, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Wooldridge; and a great-grandson, Chase Wintjen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Kay Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
