Carolyn Ann Alexander

Carolyn Ann Alexander, age 71, of El Dorado Springs, passed away Dec. 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. She was born April 14, 1946, to Wendel Durwood and Ethel Mae (Wolfe) Pettibon in Nevada.

She attended school at Benton School, Nash School, Deerfield, Nevada, and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1964.

Carolyn worked at various occupations in her life, including at the Dunbrooke Shirt Factory, as an Avon agent, as a real estate agent, for KESM Radio, for Music Makers and as a car salesperson.

At the age of 7, Carolyn was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Nevada. She attended church at Sylvan Dale Baptist Church before moving to El Dorado Springs. She then attended the Community Christian Church and later the Church of God (Holiness). She rededicated her life in November 2003. She loved the Lord and recently was very active in the home church group she attended, where she was growing in the Lord.

Carolyn was a caring, giving person. She would step in as a mother for family members in need of her support. She gave unselfishly to those in need and was generous to a fault. Her unselfish spirit will be missed by both family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Larry Pettibon; and one sister, Lana Gray.

Survivors include a son, Troy Alexander and wife Jenny; three grandchildren, Rachel Phillips and husband, B.J., Rhonda Hohl and husband, Justin, and McKenzie Alexander; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron Pettibon and wife, Rhonda; and one sister, Judy McGuirk and husband, Kent Ed. Carolyn also left behind a dear friend, Kerri Cuff; and a host of buddies she loved hanging out with.

Funeral services for Carolyn Alexander will be held today at 11 a.m. at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with the Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are B.J. Phillips, Justin Hohl, Tim Wilson, Brian Wilson, Dustin McGuirk and Erick McGuirk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Show-Me Christian Youth Home and left at the funeral home.
