Lady Tigers steamroll Warrensburg, 51-16

The Nevada Lady Tigers drilled Warrensburg, 51-16, in a Friday night West Central Conference road contest. Nevada led 16-1 at the conclusion of the first quarter, en route to a 33-10 halftime advantage. Nevada then led 47-16 through three quarter of play, before pitching a fourth quarter shutout, as the Lady Tigers outscored Warrensburg, 4-0 in the final frame.

For the Lady Tigers, sophomore point guard Calli Beshore dropped in a team-high 16 points, including a pair of first quarter 3-pointers.

The victory improves Nevada to 13-8 overall and 5-4 in the West Central Conference.

“It was a tremendous team effort tonight,” said Lady Tigers head coach, Brent Bartlett. “I thought the girls played with a lot of passion and teamwork, and I feel confident playing nine girls in the rotation.”

In addition, Nevada’s junior varsity team toppled Warrensburg, 44-21, as forward Lindley Ferry finished with a game-high 11 points. Nevada’s C-team was edged by Warrensburg, 31-28. Nevada’s Rebecca Cox was a force in the post, pouring in 20 points.
